21 new resources today

I've uploaded today 21 new resources for Primary French and Spanish:

• A new "What's in the box?" for French school equipment (Thanks Jayne!)
• A new pairs worksheet for describing body parts with colour (French)
• A new family tree worksheet, for creating an imaginary family tree
• New PowerPoints and worksheets for teaching family to Year 3 Spanish
• New PowerPoints and worksheets for working on personal description with Year 4 Spanish 
• New PowerPoints for pets (Spanish)
• New resources for teaching colours alongside the verb ser - Y3 Spanish
• New resources for sports - Y5 Spanish

I've also added some more #LumenChallenges - there are now 10.  Have a go!

Update on resources

I've checked all the French and Spanish interactives so they should all work for you now.  You do need to have Flash for some of the older ones.

For French I have added:

• colours
• family members
• days of the week
• describing hair and eyes

For Spanish I have added:

• en mi pueblo, including places in town, transports, adjectives and the verb Ir
• weather

There are now five different #LumenChallenges and already completed challenges are being posted on our social media!  There will be more to come.

Lumen's Language Challenges

Following on from yesterday's post about how Light Bulb Languages can help with home learning I've been working on the site today.

I've checked all the French interactives to make sure they all work, and have added some more for Colours and Family.  I've made myself a list of others to add using educandy and Quizlet.  If there is a particular topic area that you'd like an interactive for, please let me know.  I still have Spanish and German to check.

The main addition to the site today is Lumen's Language Challenges.  From this page you can download the Lumen Awards in French, Spanish and German.  The Language Challenges are for children and grown-ups to do.  They  incorporate words in another language and arts and crafts, and provide a creative outlet which will help with wellbeing.

Please pass the link on to the young people that you know, and why not have a go at some of the challenges yourself?

How can Light Bulb Languages help with home learning?

Hello Light Bulb Languages users,

You may well be in the position of having to put together some kind of work pack for your students to complete while they are in isolation at home.

There are plenty of things on the website that will help you to do this.  For example:

• Interactive activities for French 
• Interactive activities for Spanish 
• Write Away! magazine - for Key Stage 2, but could be useful as reading material for older students.  Also, each issue has a languages-based puzzle which you might like to use.  The next issue will be out early April.
• Lumen's Spanish Award - a culture-based award with lots of different activities that children can do at home
• Lumen's French Award  
• Lumen's German Award
• 2 worksheets for every double-page spread of Studio 1
• Worksheets for the first part of Studio 2 Rouge
• 2 worksheets for every double-page spread of Mira 1
• Some worksheets for Stimmt 1
• Our YouTube channel with explanatory videos for Spanish and French
• Lumen's Language Challenges - language-based art and craft challenges for children and grown-ups alike
• Learn Spanish at home - a series of videos for children to learn Spanish and do some extra activities as well.  

I have chosen to stay at home for the forseeable future due to being in the at risk group.  This means that I can create and add to the site any resources that would be useful for you in supporting your classes or your own children.  I am intending to add to the interactives first.  Please let me know if there is any particular resource that you need, as a comment here or on the Facebook page or on Twitter.
